Pink Sands Restaurant Always a favorite, Pink Sands is known for ambiance and cuisine. Enjoy the fresh air patio dining under the candlelight or inside of the recently renovated interior dining area.

Rock House is a great dinner hot spot. The main dining room offers a beautiful view of the harbor and offers dishes like stone-crab salad, pork tenderloin and steaks. Great wine list.

Dunmore Beach Club Four-course gourmet dinners in a semi-formal atmosphere directly on the beach.

Runaway Hill Club A formal restaurant in a charming, whimsical setting. It's located right on the beach for breathtaking views. Reserve ahead.

Where to Shop

There is a tiny straw market on the harbor's main street and a few souvenir shops; the town has several notable one-of-kind boutiques.

The Blue Rooster sells resort staples like sarongs, Bahama Hand Prints skirts and gorgeous straw handbags.

Miss Mae's is located in a former tearoom, and sells an amazing selection of hand-sewn linen clothing for women and children, sandals, handmade jewelry, and Eric Javits hats and handbags.

Sugar Mill is the stylish boutique owned by island entrepreneur and author India Hicks. Her store carries men's and women's designer clothing, jewelry, items from her own line of products, Crabtree & Evelyn products, and some luxury children's hand made toys and books.

Briland's Androsia Boutique sells Bahamian batik clothing and fabrics. The Landing Cellar is a fine wine shop with wines from around the world.

The Princess Street Gallery sells mostly local art including watercolors by Elizabeth Berry, whose bright streetscapes decorate many of the island's houses, and works by Stephen Scott Young, considered the Wyeth of the Bahamas.
